Geelong Childrens Centre
commenced operation in 1967 and is registered to provide care for 90
children each day, from the age of six weeks to school age. We are a
community not-for-profit Childcare Centre which is managed by a
voluntary committee made up of community and parent representatives.
This non-profit Centre is run as a business to ensure that sufficient
surplus funds are channelled back into the Centre to provide professional environment,
extra staffing and high quality children's resources and
equipment.
The Geelong
Childrens Centre operates under the Victorian Children's Services
Regulations 1998, and is staffed in excess of child-staff ratios in all
rooms. Qualified Staff are in-charge of all rooms and act as
leaders of their staff, children and resources.
The Centre employs a cook, contract gardener and cleaner, handy man,
and two administrative staff, therefore the major duty of the staff is
to care for the children.
The Centre is open from 7:00 am. to 6:00 pm, 51 weeks per year, 5 days
per week. The Centre closes between Christmas and New Year.
We are closed all public holidays, and open all school holidays.
